One recommendation is a piece of software called Evernote, as it allows you to sync notes from your phone, tablet, and PC with ease. This may be more convenient, depending on your preferences and hardware. However, we live in an age where cell phones and tablets can be used for note keeping. Understandably, this can be a bit of a pain, even with ample pocket room. The advice you will hear a lot is to carry a notebook with you at all times. Maybe you have a handful of ideas that you would love to see be applied to your future cartoon. It's safe to assume that you have some ideas for your own works even before you picked up this book. Here's a free tutorial from my site that covers some other aspects of keys and displaying channels in AS 6: Now the layer will hold up to frame 10 and from frame 10 to frame 20 it will smoothly translate. Copy the key from frame 1 and paste it on frame 10 then create a new key on frame 20 by translating the layer. If you want the layer to "hold" from frame 1 to frame 10 then move smoothly from frame 10 to frame 20, do the same as above but don't set the frame 1 key to step. Now when you translate the layer on a later frame it won't move at all until it hits that key frame and then it will "step" or "jump" to the new location. Select that key frame on frame 1 and right click on it and select "step" as the interpolation. Now the layer translation channel is visible.

Try not to move the mouse as you do this just click. To do this first go to frame 1 and with the layer translation tool just click on the screen to create a key frame. AS 6 has not changed how key frames are handled.
